As part of the celebrations WI members had created a mural which was unveiled by one of the Trustees of the hall. The mural was the brainchild of committee member and resident artist Michelle Parsons who sketched out the painting in sections which was then filled in by members at a designated meeting. Under Michelle’s expert supervision a Clarice Cliff style picture emerged displaying all the important landmarks in the village of Wickhambrook. It was then fixed to part of the ceiling in the hall where it will be admired for many years to come.
Seven previous Presidents of Wickhambrook WI were present together with Julie Higgins, a Suffolk West Trustee and her husband. The whole event was a great success and several bottles of “sparkle” were drunk together with copious amounts of scones with jam and cream!
