Earlier this year Deirdre was awarded the ‘Alf Hicks Biscuit Barrel‘ by the Parish Council, having been nominated by many residents for her work raising funds for MacMillan Cancer Support with an annual coffee morning, which started over 25 years ago. These coffee mornings, with the usual excellent provision of cakes and pastries that Deirdre and her supporters create, have now raised £29,000 over the years.
