Wickhambrook Bowls Club, which had been reformed in April 2008 (the original club having closed its doors the previous August) by a small group of non-bowls playing enthusiasts not wishing to see the demise of a valuable village facility.
The Club very kindly donated its bowls and greens equipment to the parish council for a nominal fee, and also kindly donated its remaining funds £415.85 to the parish council. These funds will be held in Earmarked Reserves for now, and may be used to support local groups and organisations within the parish.
The parish council will continue to cut the hedges and outer banks of the green, and will provide ad hoc cutting of the green throughout this year.
If you are interested in starting up a bowls club, or are an existing bowls club that would like to hire the space, please contact the clerk, for more information.
