The NHS Health Check is a simple, free check-up designed to spot early signs of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and dementia. It takes just 20 minutes and could make all the difference to your long-term health.

What happens?

The check includes measuring your height, weight and waist, taking your blood pressure, and a cholesterol test. You’ll also be asked about your lifestyle and family history. Staff will then tell you how you can keep fit and well, and whether you need any treatment or medicine.

How to get checked?

If you’re eligible, you’ll receive an invitation text from NHS No Reply. Don’t ignore it: it’s genuine. You can book at your local GP surgery or request an appointment through the Suffolk GP Federation at suffolkfed.org.uk/healthcare-services/nhs-health-checks/.

For organisations and workplaces

You can arrange for a health professional to offer NHS Health Checks on-site for your eligible staff*, completely free.

Take control of your health

Around two in three people invited for a health check don’t take up the offer. Prevention is always better than cure: book your free health check today.

Your health matters. Don’t leave it to chance.
